The Brief

Tower Hamlets Homes work with Tower Hamlets Council to deliver housing services for 21,000 homes across East London. They approached Office Profile to refurbish their new office in the Docklands. The client was keen to ensure that the office didn’t look too corporate like a traditional council office. Instead of a standard, formal office they wanted an enthusing, inspiring space that reflected their company values. They liked the idea of using bold colours and graphics to make it an enjoyable place to work.

There were various areas that we needed to refurbish; open plan office spaces, washrooms with and without showers, breakout spaces, teapoints, meeting rooms and offices. As we were working within a tendered layout and specification to a tight deadline, our design team had to be creative with the design enhancements they made.

What we did

In the open plan office areas, we provided Myriad bench desking with some electric sit/stand desks to allow for agile working. Throughout all three floors, we designed patterned carpet and vinyl in the corporate colours. Glass partitions for meeting rooms and offices were built with famous influential people from the area incorporated within the design of the manifestation.

Office Profile provided Beachhouse and Treehouse seating because their unique shapes were representative of housing. They are fantastic places to unwind or to work in without any distractions due to their acoustic, enclosed designs.

Office Profile stripped out and replaced the washrooms and showers with new fixtures and fittings, followed by new LED lighting throughout all of the floors. New vibrant teapoints were created on each floor complete with filtered boiling water points and glass splashbacks. We designed unique feature walls for the breakout areas which include real moss.
