The Brief

MetDesk are a professional weather forecast company for large organisations that are in weather sensitive markets. Due to their expansion, MetDesk had outgrown their 2000 sq ft office and were searching for space twice the size within the vicinity.

Originally an old pub, The Wellhead, with its unusual layout suited them perfectly, but required extensive refurbishment. Within the brief, the client expressed that they wanted to incorporate their corporate colours, logo and company ethos within the office design whilst retaining some of the building’s architectural features.

What we did

We wanted to make sure that MetDesk’s brand was encapsulated from the very entrance of their office, so we mounted their company logo on a bold blue wall to create an eye-catching reception. The colours within their logo can be seen throughout the design of the office, accentuated in the soft furnishings, carpets and walls. In the downstairs and upstairs office, glass partitioning was fitted with a frosted weather map detail to add a subtle hint of the company ethos whilst still maintaining a corporate feel. A unique feature of MetDesk’s new office is the large weather forecast map wall graphic in the boardroom which complements the stylish meeting table and chairs.

In the breakout space, the teapoint includes vibrant decorative tiles and art deco lighting surrounding the old bar features. Soft Banquette seating and colourful stools were supplied for a relaxed feel. Up in the forecasting area, it was important to make sure that individuals could work efficiently in the busy space. Therefore, we fitted Myriad screens to provide privacy and reduce noise levels in the busy office environment.
